Hajra Farooqui
Class of 2022
Hajra Farooqui graduated from Duke Kunshan University in 2022, where she majored in Ethics and Religious Studies. She has a masters in Near Eastern Studies from NYU. Currently, she is a first-year Ph.D. student at the Department of Religion at Princeton. She is interested in the gendered construction of religious authority, transnational Muslim print publics, and critical archival studies. In particular, she explores the ways in which emerging Muslim communities in the New York Metropolitan Area are shaped by and respond to Islamist movements in South Asia during the 20th century.

Xueyi Liu
Class of 2022
Xueyi graduated from DKU in 2022 with a major in Global China Studies, specializing in History. Her time at DKU helped her develop a deeper understanding of societal structures, which sparked her interest in advocacy and justice. She had the opportunity to present her research at Humanities Conferences and was recognized on the Dean’s List. In May, she got her Master degree in Public Administration at NYU’s Wagner School, focusing on public policy analysis. Her experience in legal research, public service, and investment analysis has guided her toward a career in law and public service. She is also an incoming student at Columbia Law School.
